Stay-cation

Last week D had some extra vacation hours that he needed to use, so he took a few days off and I joined him.  We took P to the Discovery Gateway and found a million things that he enjoyed.

Taking a "nap" in the playhouse.

P also had his first bowling experience.

And he loved the first 30 minutes, but spent the rest of the time like this...
We also spent some time up in Ogden where aunt Meg built P the most amazing fort...
and we went to the Treehouse Children's Museum...and I think we could have left P there for a few hours by himself and he would not have even noticed.

I wish I had known about these places earlier!  They were so much fun!

I SO ANGRY!!!

We had just completed a fun afternoon of bowling and were headed to the DQ for a sweet treat when P suddenly started giving me attitude...
I am still trying to figure out why he was so angry with me.  However, today he said he was "so angry" at daddy and when I asked why he said "Daddy makes me so happy". I had to clarify..."You're so angry at daddy because daddy makes you so happy?" Yep. Weirdo.

Salt...everywhere

I looked away for 2 minutes to work on the dishes.  I was maybe 4 feet away.  And he was being quiet...like a little angel.
The ironic thing is, when I was in high school I left a salt scene similar to this (but with a snow man in the middle) on the table of a McDonald's in downtown Seattle.  And now I know what it felt like to clean it up.  Karma.

Big Boy Bed Nap Time Success

P recently transitioned into his Big Boy Bed (aka the toddler bed we found in the basement when we bought the house).  To help with the transition, we allowed him to pick out his bedding and put a bed rail on.  He has slept like a champ in the bed from day 1...at night time.  But he has refused to nap in it.  When I put him down for his nap, he explores the room, finds everything that I have not taken out of the room or hidden in the closet, and plays pretend (he currently believes the bed is a car and/or motorcycle and he loves driving it...for his entire nap time).  Finally, after several weeks of trying to get him to take a nap, I went to check on him a few days ago and this is what I found:
I love that he has his church shoes and hairbrush in the bed, and he is sleeping with his head on Mickey Mouse and his face smashed into the bed rail.  At least he is asleep.

Old Socks...

The other day P went down for a nap with perfectly normal socks.  When he woke up, this is what they looked like:
I'm starting to think my child is trying to get me fired from my job...

He takes his Wii Fit exercises VERY seriously...
