Pool Party

Lil D came over on Saturday for a pool party. P LOVES Lil D... so much so that when we got home from church today, P kept saying "D, D, D" over and over again and threw a little (actually, a GINORMOUS) tantrum because D was not here to play. Keep your eye out for more tantrum posts in the very near future...

A Day at the Park

Last weekend we celebrated great grandpa's 75 birthday at the park with D's family. P loved playing on the toys with aunt Megan...

and snuggling with grandma...

and eating great food...

and hitting a pinata for the first time (he was the littlest one but he got some great swings in there)...

playing frisbee with dad and grandpa...

and riding on grandpa.

What happens in Vegas...

gets put on the blog within days! Last weekend we went on a road trip to Vegas with our friends Teo and Serena (who are visiting from Italy). We stayed with Amber, one of my favorite mission companions, in her amazing house with her amazing roommates. It was such a fun trip. One of the highlights for me was when Serena made us panzarotti and arancini...buonissimi!

P was a BIG fan of the panzarotti, and he was super fun on the trip...sleeping like an angel and charming everyone around him.

Come sono carini, no? Sinceramente รจ stato un piacere di vedere tutte e due, e speriamo di vederli a presto.

Welcome Back Friends!

Our dear friends have finally moved back from Nebraska after 3 long years! I will admit, we were lucky to be able to see them pretty frequently over the past 3 years, but it is really nice to have them back. And with them, they brought little S, aka P's "best friend". I use that term a little loosely, considering they fought over every toy in sight their first weekend back together. But they do have their sweet moments as well...

19 Months...

This past month really flew by...and our boy is growing rapidly into an independent child. No one ever told me that toddler hood was such a short period of time!

Here are some details about what P has been up to this past month...

-Nursery Success! P has been attending nursery for over a month now, and he is such a star! He has only been clingy once (because I took him instead of his father), but now that we have established that daddy drops him off every week, he does great. He comes back cheerful and super happy to see us. LOVE nursery.

- P can identify all of his major body parts (head, hair, ears, nose, eyes, mouth, neck, arms, hands, legs, feet, belly button, knee, etc), and he can say most of the words as he points to them.

- P is starting to say animal names and noises (elephant is my favorite...I don't know how to make a good elephant noise, so I always lift my arm like a trunk and hum loudly, and it is so fun to watch him lift his arm and make the same noise!).

- P has had 3 hair cuts since January...his hair just keeps growing!

- P has started to expand his collection of scars...like a real man.

- P loves playing Hide and Seek. Sometimes I won't hear him for a minute or two, so I will start hunting around the house because he is hiding. When I find him, he is just sitting waiting for me to find him and he laughs and laughs. His favorite spots are the closet in our bedroom, his closet, and the other side of the table (where he can watch us coming, but thinks we can't see him).

Ouch!

Scooter + super steep driveway + overly adventurous child = an accident waiting to happen

Oh wait...it did happen.
