Swimming!

P and I participated in a parent-tot swimming class a few weeks ago, and he loved it! I don't mean to brag, but he was kind of the star of the class (meaning that he was super animated and made the other moms laugh due to his cute antics). Daddy came to the class on the last day to take pictures...as he was pulling out the camera, I took P to the top of one of the slides...and proceeded to slip and fall down the slide. I quickly grabbed P so that he wouldn't slip, and this is the first picture dad could take...

P was a little freaked out...and wanted nothing more to do with the slides. Poverino.
During the classes, P learned how to jump into the water, kick his legs, move his arms, float a little on his back, go underwater, and blow bubbles, all while playing fun games and singing songs. He loved being in the water and has no fear of jumping right in. The class also taught me how to hold him and what to do with him to help him learn how to swim. Now if I could just find someone to do all these things for me so that I can learn...

Girls Camp 2011

Preface: This post has NOTHING to do with P, and will probably only interest 2 of our readers, but I felt it was important to document the following events for posterity...and to embarrass a few people...

I had the privilege of attending Girls Camp with my ward this year...and it was so much fun! Totally brought me back to my days in Young Women's (except the only prank I remember is Cressy's underwear on the flag pole... and these girls were full of pranks!) Our camp director (see below) was incredible and all the girls in our ward are pretty obsessed with her. She didn't come to our activity this past Tuesday and at least 8 girls ask me where she was and if she was coming...

Note to self: Next time you even consider asking a random young woman from another ward to take the ever important "picture of all the girls" (or any other equally important picture), please remember the poor quality of the picture below...

Things I would like to remember about camp this year:
-my dating activity (especially Celia and Meghan's faces when they bit into the grossest cupcakes in the world)
-numerous falls, footie pajamas, garbage can jumping, Little Sally Walker, Ride that Pony, and Poison (all new games to me), hair parties, water fights, cheesecake faces, chipmunks on chairs, gopher mix,
-the "Gift of Gab" award that I received
-the awesome cheers the girls came up with
-the most amazing testimony meeting ever
-testimony tins
-retiring a flag
-the best leaders and girls ever to share it all with

Things I would like to forget about camp this year:
-the infamous "first night"...and the pregnancy pact that resulted from the nightmare that was the first night...
-ALL of the pre-camp prep...
-crying during the ENTIRE testimony meeting (starting before anyone even said anything), then having a massive headache for the next three days because of it.
-the Thursday night urine incident (which we will never speak of again)
-how "fun" it is to cook while at camp (and I wasn't even in charge of cooking, and I BARELY helped at all...)
-all the rain
-vomit on the ride up

Pool Party

Lil D came over on Saturday for a pool party. P LOVES Lil D... so much so that when we got home from church today, P kept saying "D, D, D" over and over again and threw a little (actually, a GINORMOUS) tantrum because D was not here to play. Keep your eye out for more tantrum posts in the very near future...

A Day at the Park

Last weekend we celebrated great grandpa's 75 birthday at the park with D's family. P loved playing on the toys with aunt Megan...

and snuggling with grandma...

and eating great food...

and hitting a pinata for the first time (he was the littlest one but he got some great swings in there)...

playing frisbee with dad and grandpa...

and riding on grandpa.

What happens in Vegas...

gets put on the blog within days! Last weekend we went on a road trip to Vegas with our friends Teo and Serena (who are visiting from Italy). We stayed with Amber, one of my favorite mission companions, in her amazing house with her amazing roommates. It was such a fun trip. One of the highlights for me was when Serena made us panzarotti and arancini...buonissimi!

P was a BIG fan of the panzarotti, and he was super fun on the trip...sleeping like an angel and charming everyone around him.

Come sono carini, no? Sinceramente รจ stato un piacere di vedere tutte e due, e speriamo di vederli a presto.

Welcome Back Friends!

Our dear friends have finally moved back from Nebraska after 3 long years! I will admit, we were lucky to be able to see them pretty frequently over the past 3 years, but it is really nice to have them back. And with them, they brought little S, aka P's "best friend". I use that term a little loosely, considering they fought over every toy in sight their first weekend back together. But they do have their sweet moments as well...
