13 December 2014: Take a ride on the Polar Express
It was difficult to capture this event on camera, but we rode a train around, went to see Santa (who P wanted nothing to do with because he was not the "real" Santa), and then rode the train through a Christ centered program. P said his favorite part was all the pictures of Jesus. We will probably never get to do this again (there were 8,000 people on the waiting list this year alone), but this was a fun activity (despite P's lack of smile...).

12 December 2014: Shop for gifts for family
P told me that he wanted to spend his allowance money to buy presents for his family this year. He picked out some fun gifts, and had pretty good reasons why he wanted to give certain presents to certain people. My favorite reasons were "So he can cook better" and "So she can fill it with money and be rich like me". P even took his own money up to the cash register and secretively bought a gift for me without me seeing what it was... I can't wait to find out!

11 December 2014: Go to a dance recital
Sophie did an amazing job dancing to "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer"... but P spent most of the recital at the drinking fountain...

10 December 2014: Write a Letter to Santa
P wrote 3 letters to Santa. They said "I am on the good list", "Mom is on the good list" and "Dad is on the noty (naughty) list". I asked if he was going to ask Santa for anything and he said "I'll just tell him in person".

06 December 2014: Put up Christmas Lights
For the first time ever, we put up lights on our house. P picked out the lights and has been so excited every time they turn on.

03 December 2014: Make Cards for Aunts and Uncles
P was very serious about drawing pictures for his aunts and uncles. He traced his hand and made a reindeer out of it for Megan, drew a snowman with tons of arms for Jen, drew Darth Vader fighting Yoda in a light saber battle for Matt, a Christmas tree (with lots of red ornaments) for Erik, and Anakin Skywalker fighting Obi Wan while swinging over lava for Thor. I love his creativity. I remember being in Kindergarten when the teacher gave us blank pieces of paper to color on, and I just sat there, staring at the paper, with no idea what I was supposed to put on it. I had to peek on the other kids papers to get some ideas of what to draw. But P has it all up in his head. So fun.

01 December 2014: Act out the Christmas Story
Our first Christmas activity this year was to read the Christmas story in the scriptures, and act it out using our toys. P was not thrilled about having his picture taken for this...
