For the first time ever, we put up lights on our house. P picked out the lights and has been so excited every time they turn on.

03 December 2014: Make Cards for Aunts and Uncles
P was very serious about drawing pictures for his aunts and uncles. He traced his hand and made a reindeer out of it for Megan, drew a snowman with tons of arms for Jen, drew Darth Vader fighting Yoda in a light saber battle for Matt, a Christmas tree (with lots of red ornaments) for Erik, and Anakin Skywalker fighting Obi Wan while swinging over lava for Thor. I love his creativity. I remember being in Kindergarten when the teacher gave us blank pieces of paper to color on, and I just sat there, staring at the paper, with no idea what I was supposed to put on it. I had to peek on the other kids papers to get some ideas of what to draw. But P has it all up in his head. So fun.

01 December 2014: Act out the Christmas Story
Our first Christmas activity this year was to read the Christmas story in the scriptures, and act it out using our toys. P was not thrilled about having his picture taken for this...

First Day of Preschool...Year 2
This year, P decided he wants to be Spiderman and a Builder when he grows up. He clarified for me that he wants to have lots of tools like Papa and build really tall buildings...maybe for Spiderman to swing from?

Who needs training wheels? Not this kid!
Today, I took P's training wheels off, just to let him practice balancing for a little bit. He balanced for about two minutes and then took off. He is a bike riding fool! And quite a dare devil too. D feels a little robbed that he was not able to fulfill his fatherly duty of teaching his son how to ride a bike. But I'm just happy he hasn't been hit by a car...

This is for the Newsies!
It all started innocently enough... we were driving to meet my family in Oregon for a camping trip and we decided to listen to the Newsies soundtrack...just once. Then, on our way home, P made a special request to listen to "Seize the Day". From there, a monster was born. Our entire summer has been filled with the songs of Newsies singing in the streets, and we have "papes" in every nook of our home. P makes his own newspapers and sells them around the neighborhood. He breaks out in song everywhere we go. And he even started to dress like a Newsie. He found this hat at our friend Dave's house and fell in love...
So D decided to surprise him by purchasing a similar hat for him...which he rarely takes off. He thinks this picture makes him look like Spot Collins on the docks of Brooklyn...
For weeks, he begged us for suspenders. Every time we went to a store, he asked me if they had suspenders. Once aunt Jen found that out, a package arrived with the coveted suspenders...can you see the pure joy in his face?
And here we have the completed ensemble...
And if you are interested in hearing a little taste of P's singing voice, you are in for a treat...

Camping with Nana and Papa
Stop at Shoshone Falls on our way to Oregon.
Don't they all look thrilled?
Throwing rocks with Thor.
Ice Cream face.
Bumper boats.
Fishing on a boat.
Being towed back in when our boat stopped working...
Fish faces (P's looks more like a duck face to me...but still cute).
Our lone catch of the weekend...the one that got away...
Maybe this is why P had trouble catching anything...
