Yesterday was a tragic day for a certain fast food franchise. If I were to rank the three worst things that have ever happened to Wendy's they would be: 1) the death of Dave Thomas, 2) the invention of the vanilla frosty (why mess with perfection?), and 3) June 25th, 2008 (the end of a legacy).
For those of you that don't know, for the past four years since returning home from our missions Dave, Spencer and I have had a weekly tradition called Wednesday Night Wendy's. We gather each week to enjoy a burger, talk about sports, classes, history, girls, politics, fantasy sports, and just keep great friendships alive. Dave gets the same thing almost every time, so he must have eaten about 150 1/2lb Double Cheeseburgers with medium fries and a medium chocolate frosty, except the one time he got a vanilla frosty and we made fun of him the entire night. We have missed weeks here and there, especially as we began to get really busy with school, work, and as one by one we each got married. While we can always hope that in the future the three of us will live close enough to rekindle this tradition I don't want to keep my hopes too high. Yesterday was quite possibly the last ever Wednesday Night Wendy's (Spencer and Dave, we should trademark this term and let others fight over Monday McDonalds, Tuesday Taco Bell, and Friday Fazolis). Spencer leaves Tuesday for grad school in Buffalo and in a month Dave will be leaving for law school in Omaha . Below is a picture Spencer took of Dave and I with our last Wendy's meal together.

Remember that the friendships that you have made will be forever. Cherish the memories an look forward to many more.
So wherever will you go when we are having girl's night out???? Teri
#4 worst thing to happen to Wendy's: got sold to Triarc Companies. I bet Dave is rolling over in his grave. (Do you think he has a frosty engraved on the headstone? or perhaps just the saying, "Where's the beef?")
