Bed Head

This weekend, I finally started to allow P to cry himself back to sleep when he wakes up in the middle of the night. He has been a real champ, only waking up a few times and crying for less than 30 minutes. An added bonus is that I wake up to find this:

6 months already!?!?!

This past month, P has really come to enjoy his toes...

the Jumperoo...
smiling...

and smiling some more...

sitting up...

taking baths...

and climbing up the stairs.

P also enjoys putting things in his mouth (newspaper, mom's hair, cords, phones, the computer, you name it!), eating all the veggies he has tried (carrots, squash, green beans, peas, and sweet potatoes), pulling himself up on couches and people, exploring the house, playing with his favorite toys (including Sassy the horse, his monkey teether, and his doggie blanket), going for walks, looking at his favorite books (or, more accurately, EATING his favorite books), and generally being super cute.
P is NOT a fan of sitting still, sleeping through the night, and all the fruits he has tried (pears, peaches, prunes, applesauce, and bananas). This is the face he makes after eating fruit:

I have noticed recently that P makes what I like to call "crazy eyes".

What do you think? Doesn't he look a little crazy?
P has also become INCREDIBLY mobile this past month. We can't leave him alone for a second!

Like taking books from a baby...
At the doctor today, P weighed in at 17 lbs 7 oz (49th percentile), he is now 27 1/2 inches tall (85th percentile), and his head is 17 1/2 inches (70th percentile...his head is finally the right size for his body!) P was a real pro when he got his shots today...he cried for a second and then smiled through the pain, like any real man would.

5 months...

P has been so much fun this past month. He has started to do this worm crawl, pushing his head down to the ground and pushing himself forward with his toes. P still has bright blue eyes and his hair is growing like crazy!

Over this past month P has developed an obsession with his dad's computer...
he has started to eat rice cereal...

and "yellow" veggies (like squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots. He hates the carrots, but loves everything else).

P also developed an obsession with newspaper (and I was silly enough to let him play with some under my supervision...but his face and hands still turned a nice, light shade of black).

P fell in love with his excersaucer...

and learned how to play hide and seek...

and started to reach for things and stick them in his mouth (even the paci that he has had a hate-hate relationship with)...

and started to sit up on his own (with a little back support now and then)...

and started to laugh like crazy.

We can not get enough of this little guy!

Here Comes Trouble...

The other day I put P down in his crib for a few minutes so that I could make myself some lunch.

Usually, he fusses after only a few minutes in the crib. But that day, he wasn't making a peep. In fact, I left him in there for ten minutes and he didn't make a sound. When I went to get him, this is what I found:

I expect him to start walking any day now.

4 months...

I can not believe another month has flown by and we haven't blogged about anything! I blame it on my job....
P has been just as busy this past month. He started sucking on some fruit (thanks to Daddy...)...

developed an adorable double chin (technically he has had this for a while, but it is extra cute here)...
made some new friends (he is loving toys and stuffed animals right now)...

met Grandma Cavanaugh...

and Auntie Jen...

and Grandpa Cavanaugh...

and had a blessing with all of his favorite people around...

and started to LOVE the Baby Bjorn (finally)...

and had his name put up on the wall...

and learned how to do this...
P is rolling all over the place now and trying to crawl a little...he looks like a little inch worm! P also peed on mommy for the first time this month...but I didn't get a picture of that. P now weighs 15 lbs 12 oz (70th percentile), and is 26 inches long (85th percentile)...but his head is still only in the 40th percentile...tiny little head.
